The Loop for Lenny

First things first, I just want to stress that sushi (veggie of course) is not a good pre-ride meal. Even if you eat 3 hours before...that nori has staying power.

That aside, I had a fantastic ride today. My legs started off a little sluggish but as soon as I warmed up they responded. I think sometimes I mistaken my stiff legs at the beginning of a ride as not recovered but most of the time they just need a good warm up and they're fine.

I headed to the car-free gats today and did the loop. This may be old news but its officially clear, not a patch of snow to be seen on the whole thing. I rode the loop instead of a there and back to Champlain via Blacks because Lenny requested an update on road conditions. I was happy to oblige.

I felt very strong again today. I've noticed my energy levels in general are very high ever since I adapted Beth Mansfield's eat more carbs throughout the day plan and since I've followed a few dietary tips regarding blood sugar levels from my naturopath. Now I don't 'crash' and feel like napping in the afternoon at work anymore. This used to happen regularly and I thought it was normal.

And I feel strong during most rides now, where before it was hit or miss and I would often fade at the end. Today as I was finishing my hard 3 hour ride, I felt like I could go another 2 hours. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about this new found stamina!

I want to ride in SMH tomorrow night. Anyone want to go?
EDIT: legs are toast after working so hard yesterday so no ride for me tonight. Sorry BR!

I'm in - but I'll need a drive. Can you swing by and get me?

of course not Greg!

I'm not necessarily stronger or faster than before I just feel better. Clear headed and full of energy more often than I used to be.

I look forward to your visit!

Hurray for carbs!

The real pisser is when you've got all these things figured out, it's just the training that makes you faster. =P
