This post by the Fat Cyclist had me giggling uncontrollably but I suspect its mostly because I completely identified with it. I'm happy to hear someone with a worse case of mechanical incompetence than my own. However its a bit more embarrassing for me seeing as I'm a MECHANICAL enginner.
I'm not as bad as Fatty but the first time changing my brake pads ended with me at Joe Mamma having my brakes bled. And any job more complicated than changing a tire has me peeled to the Park Tool website and usually ends with a panicked phone call to Craig or Lenny...
I used to have the attitude of at least I try but after reading the oath Fatty made, maybe that's a better choice for me too.

unfortunately no plane ticket to Calgary. Luckily its not necessary since you're visiting me soon!?! Can't wait for the Forgerog Family Visit.
