Wanna see my new bike?

I got a new road bike and here is the scoop!

Yay for new road bikes...and new skate skis but that's another post.
What? did someone say something about the economy tanking? oops I didn't get the memo. dammit!

Oh well, if I have to eat canned beans & cabbage for the next six months or so it will be worth it!

All I want for Christmas....

I'm a bit picky when it comes to Christmas gifts. I don't want to get people stuff they won't use (waste!) and I don't want to get them practical stuff that they can easily buy themselves. Puts a girl into a bit of a conundrum, doesn't it?

Anyhow each year I try to come up with some original gifts that don't suck. In the past I've made gifts like chocolates, cookies, aprons, framed photos etc., however this year I found something wonderful to give and I'm so excited I want to share it with you in hope that some of you give this gift too!

The idea is simple. Its called Project Jessie and you donate money to save a cat or dog in someone's name. These animals that would otherwise be euthanized or worse, sold for research.

After you donate, Project Jessie sends you a package containing a certificate, a cute card and a picture of the animal you saved. You put the name of the person whose receiving the gift on the certificate. I'll be honest, when I saw the pictures of the two kitties I rescued, it brought tears to my eyes.

Anyway hope some of you are inspired to give this gift to someone for Christmas this year! Or pass this link on to the animal lovers in your life.
